The Benefits of Fruit
Our edible fruit arrangements are made with several mouth- watering treats. Here are a few of our delectable selections and their healthy benefits:
Berries (blueberries, black berries, and strawberries) are loaded with fiber, vitamin C, phenolic acid, flavonoids, catechins that can be anti-inflammatory and aid in preventing vessel leakage.
Grapes are rich in resveratrol and are estrogenic, anti-fungal and aid in reducing cholesterol.
Cantaloupe is filled with gamma carotene and aids in protecting and repairing DNA and strengthening the immune system.
Watermelon is literally action packed with vitamin A, vitamin B6, vitamin B1, vitamin C, potassium, magnesium, carotenoid antioxidants, lycopene and may protect white blood cells, the brain, the retina and the nervous system.
Pineapple contains a proteolytic enzyme bromelain, which digests food by breaking down the protein. Pineapple juice can thus be used as a marinade and tenderizer for meat. There is significant evidence pointing to the anti-inflammatory benefits of bromelain. Some have claimed that pineapple has benefits for some intestinal disorders while others claim that it helps to induce childbirth when a baby is overdue. It can also enhance digestion. Pineapple is a good source of manganese, as well as containing significant amounts of Vitamin C and Vitamin B1.
Honeydew Melon is reputed to be a fruit which has negative calories (in that it requires more energy to digest than the fruit itself provides.) Now that’s what I call a healthy benefit!
